He’s finally gone and done it! Russ Carnahan and the Democratically controlled Congress, the supposed “representatives of the people”, have just demonstrated who they’re loyal to. Ask yourself this question: Why is it that when working families were being crushed by soaring energy prices this summer, Congress went on vacation for five weeks and yet when Wall Street faced the consequences of its actions, they’ve worked around the clock to bail them out?
Why doesn’t Carnahan place the same priority on helping Main Street that he placed on helping Wall Street?
Because he’s a politician, and he’s in bed with every special interest group that is being effected by this situation. He’s accepted lobbying money from both Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac ever since he’s been in office and he’s voted in favor of ACORN one-hundred percent of the time! In case you’ve forgotten, ACORN is the biggest source of voter fraud in the nation. Talk about CYA!
Since 2002, my colleagues and I have been going to Washington warning them of the situation that THEY were creating, by letting Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac expand their portfolios. We warned them giving loans to high risk borrowers was a bad thing and that if they failed, the results would be catastrophic. But did they listen, of course not. Why? Because they’re politicians and politicians are experts at everything.
Now we have this bailout situation to deal with. And considered yourself warned on this one; 700 billion dollars will not be enough! I say this because back in 2002, Fannie and Freddie had more money tied up in mortgage-backed securities than all of the money in the U.S. Treasury, and this was before they started taking on water!
Unless you want socialism, oppose this bailout at every turn! Remember, a government big enough to give you everything you want is also strong enough to take away everything you have.
